Netflix’S ONE PIECE: EAST BLUE BRAWLS On ROBLOX

Launched in 2023 alongside Nextworld, One Piece: East Blue Brawls is an roguelike fighter that supports 4-player co-op play across 3 stages based on environments & scenarios from the Netflix's One Piece live action rendition. The candid challenge from the beginning was the fear that we’d miss the mark from the PoV of ‘true fans’ when faced with the development reality that art & design choices were limited to referencing the live action IP only (and not the manga or anime). Regardless, this was an impressive development feat for a quick ~3-month timeline that included a custom enemy spawn wave handler that was optimized to allow for 300+ enemy NPCs on screen at once with a smooth framerate - including on mobile.
